Full waking consciousness is where all life's goodies happen.
The results of all that dynamic potential written on your subconscious and supersonscious mind begin to walk, talk, become animated.
Consciousness is where your reality as your thoughts become known and your beliefs are played out.
On Reason and Passion
Your soul is oftentimes a battlefield, upon which your reason and your judgement wage war against passion and your appetite.
Your reason and your passion are the rudder and the sails of your seafaring soul.
Your reason ruling alone is a force confining; and passion, unattended is a flame that burns to its own destructionl
Therefore let your soul exalt your reason to the hight of passion: that it may sing:
And let it direct your passion with reason, that your passion may live through its own daily resurrection, and like the phoenix rise above its own ashes.
And since you are the breath in God's sphere, and a leaf in God's forest, you too should rest in reason and move n passion.
- Kahlil Gibran
The judgements that take place in the full waking consciousness certainly shape us and our responses to our environments.
One way that is used to distinguish the various states of mind involves using scientific data gathered from the body, by using EEG machines. These machines track varieties and differences from one state to another.
Yet in terms of delineating spirit from mind, it seems more and more difficult to seperate the two. The more we learn the more blurry the lines become.
There is so much over lapping of the mind and the spirit such as usitlinzing the popular approach of developing mindfulness in order to increase efficiency in problem solving.
The body -mind -spirit approach reveals a more complex approach to a complex unfolding world so it makes good common sense to allow for unfolding and the dynamism of life, yet is emcompasses the enriching idea of rather then deviding things in half into good bad holy evil or up and down it relfects the trinity of life organisms. It embraces such concepts that transend linear thinking and embraces more completly the unfolding of life such as the father, son, holy spirit dynamic.
It emphasises connections rather then clear cut drawn out lines of distinction.
Why is this such a popular approach?
It appears to have helped many westernes embrace a reality that overcomes the two way dichotomous thinking beween god/ man or man/ nature or good/evil. It points us towards dynamic truth about our reality that reflects and triangle of unfolding ranther then a linaer approach to thinging that is more focued on sides of a flat pie rather then embracing all aspects of a whole.
We know that thinking and thoughts effect the spiritual condition, There more we discuss concentration or centration the cross overs appear.
Many cross overs and how the mind effects the spirit is certainly contingent on the spiritual condition as well as the condition of the body.
So with the body mind spirit approach we can over come our inclination to think in term of this or that and move into this and that type thinking.
It overcomes somes limitations so it is good.
It empbraces complexities which our conscous minds have a hard time with since for most apparent reasons it's survival depends on a limited two thought system such dead / alive.
In order to overcome this many embrace mindfulness in order to allow the conscious mind to enter states of spiritual awareness to give the conscious mind the ability to see that it is not limited to the choice of either / or , dead/ alive concept.
The mind can begin to perceive itself as part of a whole that is eternal when in a fully calm and relaxed state such as those known by meditators to be "bliss".
Hypnosis can be a great tool to assist you in achieveing these states.
Being able to overcome an inability to concentrate is one of the many benefits to embracing these various states.
It enhances our ability to think more clearly, effectively, and precisely during full waking consciousness.
